Calm & Cool Master Bath

27 Apr

I love looking at gorgeous master bathrooms with white tiles, claw foot tubs, big open glass shower stalls & of course nice details. Oh what I would do to have a little soak & relaxation time in one of these bathrooms….

Maybe in our next house 🙂

Bathroom Reno?

2 Jan

I am the type of person that has about a billion ideas and projects going on in my head…. but before I can execute any of those plans or ideas I need to analyze, research and debate – ALOT! haha…. I have learned over the past couple years that before I start a project in the house I can’t just plan it and run with it – never seems to work out for me, I ALWAYS regret it. The rooms in my house where I have taken the time to do my research and plan out different concepts aka our bedroom 🙂 those are the projects I am the most happy with and have been totally worth the wait!!!

That all being said, I have been thinking about changing the powder room on our main floor. Powder rooms are always very small (if you’re the average person on the average budget) and they are the room that EVERY visitor see’s. Because let’s face it, everyone has the pee at some point right? When I first moved in and we painted the main floor and at the same time painted the powder room. My aunt who is an amazing interior designer came and helped pick all the colours. For the powder room at the time I told  her I wanted to do something a little more bold – so we went with a really fun lime green that gave off that beachy theme…. Now looking back I should have thought to myself, “Katie is this a colour you are normally drawn to and love?” the answer is No… I find when I stick to my comfort zone which is whites, creams, grays, blues – then I love it forever and it will withstand the test of time…

Here are some visuals on how I would like to transform the powder room….

For the wall colour I am thinking Benjamin Moore, Silver Half Dollar 2121-40

Here are a few things I have ordered from West Elm, Can’t wait for them to arrive!!! 🙂

Hand Towels – Grey & white striped – LOVE them! got them monogrammed with “WASH” for $8

Toilet Paper Holder & Hand Towel Ring – Rustic Hardware….

Toilet Paper Holder $20

Towel Ring $23

10 X 12 White Floating Frame $23 with an engraved B ♥

For a light, I am thinking something abit rustic…

I am still looking for a mirror….So keep your eye out for a white mirror! I have been scouting out Homesense, but no luck so far….

The part I am the most excited about –> We are also going to put trim around the wall half way to give the illusion of wainscoting and paint the bottom half white

I was so happy when I stumbled upon this blog called Pink Wallpaper– which is awesome by the way… But they transformed their Powder Room along the same lines of what I want to do, so I am excited I can actually show you what is going through this hectic brain of mine…

Now they did the squares, but we will just do the trim part….

If you have any suggestions for a Mirror I would love to hear it!

Oh and don’t you worry…. you will see the before – middle – and after stages!!!!
